William R. Knuth

Senior Meteorologist

Mr. Knuth has more than 35 years of experience in boundary layer meteorology, specializing in air transport and dispersion field studies, analysis, and modeling. He has over 40 years in meteorological and air-quality monitoring, and has managed many meteorological and air-quality research field data acquisition programs and tracer studies. Mr. Knuth is a former U.S. Air Force Weather Officer and certified forecaster, and is well-known for his specialized weather forecasting skills.

His strong background in field services and hands-on field management allows him to maintain a clear picture of the scientific objectives of any given project while solving pragmatic operational problems. In particular, Mr. Knuth has applied these capabilities in saturation monitoring and plume mapping projects in urban and rural environments throughout California and the U.S. In addition, he has utilized his forecasting skills to aid client project managers in day-to-day operational decision-making and planning. He has been a key participant in all of T&B Systems’ regional field studies including the recent 2007-2008 Wyoming Upper Green Winter Ozone Studies, the 2007 Southeast Desert/Las Vegas Ozone Studies, and the 2005 Clark County Regional Ozone and Precursor Study.

Mr. Knuth earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from the University of Wisconsin.
